An ancient way of living in truth and balance
In ancient Kemet, Ma’at represented truth, balance, harmony, justice and right order. But it was more than an idea. It was a living principle, a way of being: a way to live in alignment with yourself, with others, with nature and with the world around you.
Echoes of the Nile brings those principles into a living, accessible practice. Rooted in the 42 foundational laws of Ma’at, the deck uses reflection to reveal where you are in alignment and where something may have moved out of balance.

Why it's different
Alignment has an opposite.
Ma’at is truth, balance, and right order: living in alignment with yourself, with others, and with the world around you. Its counterpart is Isfet: imbalance, distortion, disorder, and disconnection. Isfet isn’t evil. It’s a signal that something has fallen out of right relationship, and we all move between the two.
Echoes of the Nile doesn’t only offer affirmation. Every card shows both.
Truth — See what’s actually happening, not the version that’s easier to believe.
Balance — Notice where something has tipped too far in one direction.
Right action — Choose the next step that matches what you actually value.
Data added two: I Honor My Ancestors and I Release What Does Not Serve Me, reflecting the importance of intentional remembrance and conscious release in the present.
Inside a card
Every card shows both sides.
Each card holds two sides of the same principle: Ma’at, where it’s in alignment, and Isfet, where that same principle has tipped into imbalance. Reflective prompts help you see where you stand. The card closes with an affirmation: not an answer, a place to return to.
Card 1, “I Am Peaceful”: in alignment, you stay grounded even when life is uncertain. In imbalance, you’re reactive, easily disturbed, pulled by fear or urgency. The affirmation: “I carry peace within me, and I choose to live from that stillness.”
The guidebook goes deeper: both sides of every card, reflective prompts, and spreads for realignment.

The Nile Valley connects ancient Kemet with contemporary Africa. Echoes of the Nile speaks to what continues: principles of truth, balance and right living carried into the present. This deck doesn’t recreate ancient Egypt. It follows the echo.

Data Oruwari is a visual artist and spiritual guide whose work lives at the intersection of art, spirituality and identity healing. Drawing from indigenous African philosophies, she explores how ancestral knowledge can be reawakened and applied to modern life as a path toward clarity, balance and self-understanding.
For Data, art is more than image-making. Each piece is a transmission, an offering meant to carry meaning beyond what is immediately seen. In Echoes of the Nile, that approach takes form through rigorous study, meditative practice, Afro-spiritual symbolism, pen and ink, and gold leaf inspired by Kemet.
At the heart of her work is one intention: to help others remember who they are, and to move through life with clarity, integrity and alignment.

Abusua Pa is a Black-owned publishing studio built on four standards: original artists, real cultural representation, thoughtful storytelling, and physical production worth owning. Bjorn and Chiria started the studio because too few oracle and tarot decks reflected their own communities: their faces, their cultures, their spiritual perspectives. So they built what didn’t exist.
